Just banded

I am two weeks post surgery and I have absolutely no restrictions on what food and how much I can have. Can anyone tell me what is the average number of fills before it starts to kick in?

Mine kicked in right after the first fill. But then again, I had alot of restriction for about the first four weeks before my first fill. Good Luck!

It's not about how many fills but how much of a fill. It could be fine after your first fill, or you may find it's not tight enough and will have to get an adjustment. I think I found my sweet spot on my third fill.

I have a slight restriction and having had my first fill yet (it's coming up soon!!). I am looking forward to being able to determine the difference between filled and unfilled. I have done well with the weight loss without it so hopefully it will only accelerate it. <fingers crossed!>

It took me 5-6 fills to get to my sweet spot.

I am a week post (5/27/08) and I had a day today where I still felt hungry. I'm being strong and determined, however, is this normal?? Is there little adjustment at the time of the surgery and the first adj. is at the 1st. fill?? I'd really like to know. I am so determined, but today was a struggle.

Bren649, you can have anything that fits through a straw on the liquid phase. If I were you I would heat up some creamy soup. Its typically made with milk and it was a life saver for me. Good luck.

Bren I had my surgery May 21 and from what I understand from my surgeon is that the band is put in without fluid in it so there is no restrictions at first although with everyone being different some feel the restriction with the empty band but its not common. This is a tough time from surgery untill you reach the spot where the band is helping out because as with everyone we are ready to lose weight and want that assistance the band is going to give and we want it NOW...LOL I was just wondering how many fills or cc's usually does the trick on a 10cc band. Right now I am dieting on my own desperately waiting for my adjustments and let me tell you this is not a fun time.
