I had my first fill and I can eat to much

I had my first fill a week and a half ago and I am able to almost eat a full meal as if I don't have the band! I don't understand why I am able to eat so much. I have started tanning, does anyone know if maybe that is not good for the band?

Me too!

I had my first fill about a week ago and was so tight right after the fill that I threw the water back up, so he took some fill out. Now, 3 days later, I have lost my voice. Could these be related? Anyone else have this experience or am I getting some other illness?? I am able to eat more food than I really want to already, but am hoping that will improve with the next fill...???????...

the Band is a wonderful TOOL.....we have to use it properly...if you wait for it to do all the work you will not have as good sucess as you want....

Learn the difference between 'eating' and 'hunger'....'eating' is what got all of us in this fix....'SATIETY' is what we must learn to recognize....

Start with chewing and eating slowly NOW before you get a 'hard stop' BP or slimeing episode....I thought I was somehow immune from it the first 3 months or so....but!!! do not rush to gulp down everything because the journey is just beginning...

cheers!!!

I cant imagine tanning would have any effect on the band whatsoever, but its rotten for your skin, lol. I have to use all my willpower to stay away from the solarium, I love being brown. I'll do it for a special occasion but I do find that a good dose of light makes me feel really positive and happy, and its a very relaxing thing to do. Maybe that could spark your appetite a bit.

I am tanning because I am going to Florida for Christmas and since I've lost 20 pds already I think a tan will make me feel even better. I try not to tan to much because I don't want to harm my skin.
I know the band is a tool but I am just surprised that I am able to eat like I am, it is just not expected thats all. I also was filled to tight and I spit up the sip of water that I took so they had to take a little out. I think my next fill in January will be more effective.

The good thing is that I can't eat just like I used to, I mean I used to get full if I was in the mood and now I wouldn't dare get full, I only eat one helping instead of two. So the band is still working but not as much as I thought it would.

It's worth it for things like that, it does make you feel SO much better.

As to the other, well between now and when you get the fill that makes all the difference, this is the last time you'll have to rely solely on willpower. You can do it.
