Eat or Drink on Fill Day?

My fill is at 11:00am. Should I not eat or drink before then? I only took my meds this morning with a small sip of water.

I always try to eat before I go for my fill... since I'll be doing liquids afterwards. My doctor doesn't have any rules, but that's what I do. :)

My doctor says no eating or drinking for three hours before the fill. It's on my appointment slip.

I didn't eat or drink before going. The nurse said I was correct not to eat or drink.

My fill was in the afternoon, so I had eaten breakfast and lunch and I always have a bottle of water at my desk at work. Nothing was said to me about not eating or drinking.

I was advised to just eat and drink normally before and after. All doctors are different I guess.

My doctor does not want you to have anything in your pouch when the fill is done therefore he request that you have nothing but liquids 4 - 5 hours before the adjustment. After the fill he asks patients to stay on clear liquids the rest of that day, thicker liquids & mushy food the second day, and to start solids the 3rd day. I suppose every doctor is different somewhat.

My doctor does not have any restrictions on eating or drinking. I ate normally before my last fill and all was well.

Wow. I didn't realize how different each doctor is. My doctor doesn't have any problems with eating before your fill. My last fill I ate a sandwich 30 min. before going in. (I knew I wouldn't be eating solid food for awhile.) HA!! I got a great fill & no problems! :)

I had a light breakfast at 6am the day of my fill. I had the fill done at noon time. I was asked to stay on liquid diet for the remainder of the day.

Wow. had salmon about a hour before my fill. I had to do liquids for 3 days, soft foods for 3 days and on to regular food. I started counting the days from when I left the office....lol. So today I had mushies after 2pm.

We are told nothing but clear liquids for 4 hours before the fill and then liquids for the remainder of that day, then mushies the next day then regular food. ~Mandy
