Angry Curse dryed baked fish!

I had my second fill last Friday. I was at 1cc and now am at 1.6cc. I ate soft for a day and then last night went out and ordered fish. I ate small bites and chewed well, but it was dry. I began to salavate, rushing to the bathroom and salavating for about 10 minutes. Nothing came up, no PB. I went back to my table only to "rush back" again to the bathroom. Of course we had to leave.
I had to carry a sak to spit in. This went on for ONE HOUR.

I came home and got on the chat last night and princes, debby, big t and jack helped talk me through it while I was so frightened. It was my first bad experience and it was like a golf ball that would not move. I didn't know you could salavate so much.

It passed and I am on liquids today and mushie tommorrow to give myself a rest.

Has anyone else ever experience this? How long did it last and what did you do about it or was there anything you could do.

I am so thankful for this board!

Been there done that, just had an unfill for the above reasons. Now I'm wide open, no restriction what so ever. I keep a cup in my car. My problem is I don't know how to do a clean spit, lol. Hope you're feeling better, it's an awful feeling for sure.

I'm calling the dr for a refill tomorrow, although after 8 days of not keeping anything down, it was so good to eat.

You have not been able to keep anything down for 8 days? What about liquids?

Alice, been there, done that too. That's a classic sliming episode, and it sure can be scary! What a relief when it resolves, though, huh?

You'll have to be way more careful, eat slower and explore the concept of "food lube." Anything that's dry should be dipped or moistened in something before you try to eat it, at least in the early days of learning about restriction. Good luck!!

(Oh, and Pat was saying that when she was too tight, she couldn't keep anything down. That is really too tight. That's why she had the unfill.)

It happened to me too!

Hi Alice. Yes I had the same thing. But I didn't know to go to liquids right away, plus I was on vacation and I kept making it worse. So, to make a long story short, when I got home, I had .4cc's of a 1.4cc fill removed. I had to give my stomach a rest! 2 weeks ago I had .2cc's replaced, and today, hurray, I had .5cc's put in.

I've learned that it's a process. I thought I was an expert after my banding, but I was a newbie, a baby and in many ways I still am. I hope I get it right this time. And speaking of fish, I pb'd on sushi (at a business dinner, no less) & was told that's very common food to bp on.

Best,

Karen

Alice,

Hope you are feeling better now!

Ive have a couple of things that I try when I feel my food getting stuck. Sometimes PBing is inevitable, but sometimes I can get it to pass.

At the first sign of a possible blockage:
1. I stretch my abdomen, sometimes this will dislodge the food
2. take a walk around the house, yard
3. lay down on my back, (sometimes I gently rub my belly - dont know if thats ok to recommend, but sometimes it helps).
4. lay on my right side propped up on my elbow - something about this position has helped me many times!

If I get to step #4 and Im still slimming bad, a PB is certainly gonna happen. Sometimes I PB and never get to try any of these... just depends! Different days, different foods, different levels of restriction... Good luck!
