cold drinks and mucus

Okay, sorry to be gross...

but, I had my third fill yesterday and went out this afternoon for happy hour with the girls. I had a large glass of cranberry juice - ice cold. After a while I suddenly had this disgusting mouthful of semi-hard mucous come up from the top of my esophagus. Is this normal? I've slimed and foamed on stuff before but the consistency of this stuff was gross.

Once again, I'm sorry if this grosses anyone out, but I'm not sure if this is normal.

People talking about bodily fluids often grosses other people out...so I guess it IS normal!!! Talking about it is what ISN'T normal....HAR!!!

OK....just kidding....

Had you eating something with dairy fats, lipids or animal fats prior to this cold drink?

Would you consider this just pouch or esophagus contents, or from further down?

Do you mean 'hard' as in 'ice-hard' or 'undigested hard pills' or 'hard protein-piece of chicken' hard? 'I ate a few chips' hard stuff?

Way too many unknowns to speculate....

but if there is a way to have bodily fluids come out of MY innards....I'm sure it has and more than once over the past 3 years.

Observe and note. If it recurs, consider calling your surgeon for local evaluation. Then tell us what you learn.

That was an interesting reply.

I think it was from my throat, not even the pouch or stomach. No, I hadn't eaten anything before this for three hours. (I did have soup at that meal, though.) Maybe it was from my pouch? This is all so gross!

Ewww! LOL. Never happened to me, but I suppose it's possible -- I've coughed up mucus before when I've had a cold.

I avoid ice cold drinks these days -- they tighten my band way down.
