All of my fills and unfills are done under fluro and include a barium swallow. What that shows is whether the barium goes down and into the stomach and how fast. That is supposed to tell the level of restriction.
I've gone in for an unfill when I could barely swallow a sip of water. The barium test was done first and it went down. Go figure. I still had them take some out and I had immediate relief.
I think I'm one of the few that don't react to a fill until many days later. The fluro/barium should be used as a guide, but not the end conclusion. I personally think they all should be done this way to eliminate tubing from getting poked and getting too much restriction right away.
