April, there are 2 types of restriction. Restriction to solid forcing you to eat softer foods and restriction of liquids. You should be able to eat solids, at least a little bit at a time. If this is not happening you may be too tight. The other thing you want to consider is if you are okay eating mushies. If you are okay eating mushies and you are losing that is the chance you may take if you go for an unfill. Your weight loss will drop. So you have to ask yourself if you are comfortable or do you want more solids. This is what my surgeon recommended to me when I asked him about my restriction. It all comes down to your comfort level of eating softer foods. Good luck.

I had my third fill on 11/16 and was totally freaked out for a while - only wednesday was I able to start eating relatively comfortably again. I realize that while I am tight, I am not too tight. This is what I have been doing - take a bite, chew, chew chew and then wait a minute or two before the next bite. I always have some discomfort - I think they call it first bite syndrome. If it is really really painful you may be too tight . I also find that it helps to take a big breath and hold it for as long as I can and that helps that first bite to pass if it hurts. I have also noticed that fish works much better for me. If you are drinking liquids I don't think it is a medical emergency but if you aren't able to eat solids I think the band is defeated.
Good luck and keep us updated.

Are you getting in your water? Not getting enough water will make you fill tighter. I was recently too tight and had to have all of my second fill taken out because I was dehydrated. Drinking all your water will hydrate you and help get things working properly again, and if it doesn't you are probably a little too tight. It is funny but some times even as little as .1cc can make the difference between being at the sweet spot and being toooooo tight!

Well, I think you are too tight and need a slight unfill, maybe only .1CC.

I am in the same place with my third fill. I can eat soup. I can eat about three bites of solid food and that is it. I am trying to wait it out right now. I can drink fluids. Donna
