Anybody out there?

I'm checking out this group for the first time & it doesn't look very active. Anybody reading?

As you can see from my ticker I am less than 20 pounds from goal. My goal weight is at the top of the BMI range for my height. The thing is...Yes, I am much smaller that I used to be. But I somehow thought my body would have a nicer shape than it does. I still have back fat. I still have a gut and fat thighs. I could go on. Plus, I have several places with sagging skin. I'm in my early 30s so I'd hoped that my skin was more elastic, but I guess not.

It's definitely mixed emotions. I'm pretty proud of what I've accomplished so far. But I definitely don't like the look of my body, for different reasons than before. I know I am healthier. I feel better. I can't see myself affording plastics anytime in the near future. So I have to learn to love this version of me. Anybody else feeling this?

Re: Anybody out there?

I am in a very similar situation. I just crossed over from being obese to just being overweight. I would have to be a small skinny man to ever achieve "normal"! But I have the same pockets of flab and loose skin that you describe. I don't know if it ever will go away, I still have 17 lbs to lose to hit my goal. I too had thought that being young (though I'm in my forties) would mean my skin would snap taught like a rubber band, but that was just wishful thinking. But hey - we look good in clothes now!

Re: Anybody out there?

Hi,
I am new to this too. I thought I'd look better much quicker but the Dr keeps telling me that slow is the way to go! You've done so great. I'm jealous. Congrats on your pregnancy!
