Depressed

Today the realization hit me that with out a surgical intervention to remove excess skin i don't see how in the world im ever going to be able to reach that 200 pounds lost mile stone! Im so thrilled with my results thus far. Guess i better save my pennies for surgery, play the lotto or drive around behind armored trucks and hope that one spews money all over me!

As someone who is just starting this journey all I can say is... your problem is a good one to have :)

Celebrate your progress so far and if you need to take other steps, they will come in time. (Any tips for people new to the journey?)

Someday I hope to have the same problem :)

I thought the same thing that I'd never reach my goal of 214 lbs unless the last 25 lbs or so would come from PS. I attended a PS seminar last week and the surgeon said that we shouldn't be looking to PS to lose any weight, it's to contour our bodies after weight loss. After hearing this, I felt a bit down for 3 days then decided that I'd get motivated again and do everything I possible could to keep losing to get closer to my goal of 214 lbs lost. I have a pannus that is sagging really bad and he said that most sagging tummies way between 3 and 6 lbs at the most so it's not a huge weight loss after PS.

I know a woman that lost 300 lbs without PS and then she had her PS to just tighten everything up. Invest in some good clothing that helps to suck you in so you don't feel so flabby and just keep moving forward. Look at how far you have already come.

This has been my fear! I'm just starting the process, got banded last week. I'm scared of surgery, so I promised myself I would never hove plastic surgery. As I meet more and more people who had as much weight as me to lose, I'm realizing that it's important to me not to have skin weight hanging around! :)

I can understand why you're depressed about it. I have a friend who had 35 lbs of skin taken off in plastic surgery. He started the process at 500 pounds though.

I heard that seaweed wraps help to temporarily tighten the skin... maybe give it a try and see the difference to determine if the surgery would be worth it. Just a thought. :)
