Question about tummy tucks after 50

Has anyone out there had plastic surgery on their apron/tummy over age 50? I've now lost 90 pounds and my apron is pretty large and am thinking about having it removed and was wondering if any of you have done the same? And how bad is it?

My thought is that once I hit onderland (20 more pounds) that I would think about ps, but am quite apprehensive about it. I know I sag all over, but the only part that really concerns me is the apron, I can live with all the other sags. How bad is this surgery?

Any info you could give me would be appreciated. I know there's a ps thread, but I was interested in the over 50 groups opinions. Thanks

I lost l00 lbs. and had a tummy tuck done in Tijuana and I am so happy that I had it done. It is very flat and I love the way it looks in my jeans. Just because we are in a certain age group doesn't mean that we still want to look good. Go for it.

We live in a rural community. There's an old farmer a few miles from here that always talks about how he likes his wife to look "perfect". For her 70th birthday he bought her a tummy tuck. I will never forget her coming into my office a few months after her TT and showed me her new belly. Her shirt was tucked into a pair of knit pants. She was so proud. I figure if she could do it at 80, I can do it at 52 or 53.

Sistergirl. if you don't mind me asking, who did the surgery in MX and what was the cost compared to the states? I am not to that point yet but know it's comming. Cost of travel, surgery, and the stay in MX is an issue I will have to deal with. Just would like to be prepared. Thanks.

I was 59 in March and had a tummy tuck on March 26, 2008. It was fine and I am glad I did it. The recovery was not too bad but the worst part was the drains. I recommend it to all regardless of age. Good luck. Be well.

Does anyone here have any light to shed on who, where, and how much for tummy tucks?
