Question

Ouch!!!!!!!

Yesterday for dinner I had a pork chop. Well, I think I had my first experience with food sticking but I'm not sure, that's what I need help with. All of the sudden I got a horrible pain in the upper portion of my stomach. I didn't really feel sick but the pain was incredibly intense. After about a minute it got better but all night I had alot of discomfort in my upper stomach and throat. It felt like when you swallow something and it goes down really hard but about 10 times worse. So was I experiencing food sticking or what? Has this happened to anyone else? I just got finished with dinner this evening and every once in a while it felt like I was swallowing hard and it was going down vwry hard? Is this normal or should I be concerned? Please get back to me ASAP. Thanks, Miss Vicki P.S. I also feel like I have to burp alot but I can't..........

I've only been banded 7 weeks, but it sounds to me like you have experienced being stuck. I've had this sensation a handful of times myself and my doctor said that it was stuck, mine was with dry chicken. Hope this helps.

That sounds like food sticking - pork chops may be a bit dry. I had the same problelm with chicken. Try roasted pork loin - it tends to stay moist. If you eat chops you may have to take extremely small bites and chew forever. When I've had food stick, it hurt vey much and then it just came right back up, but it was a scary senation. Hope this helps ease your mind a little bit.

Certainly sounds like getting 'stuck'.

For everyone the foods that trigger it are different, but the way to prevent it is the same - chew chew chew until almost liquid.
