Coffee, yes or no?

Hi Guys, I am 4 weeks post op and doing quite well. I have a question, how many of you drink coffee, how much do you drink and is it only decaff.? I had a cup of decaf yesterday with my Easter breakfast and it was so good!!!! I just wonder if it can have any ill effects, anyone know?

I love coffee! I gave it up for a combination of Lent and a liver detox thing. Easter sunday was my first cup.......it was really good. Personally I try to stay away from decaf, I have always found that decaf feels like it is rotting my stomach (who knows I could be allergic to it). I dont see the harm in a cup of regular coffee now and then, unless of course you need to avoid it due to a health condition or a particular medication

My Lap Band surgeon came into the pre-op area with a Starbuck's cup in his hand before my-surgery and he is has a Lap Band too. I would think he would not drink it if it was not good for us. I drink the full leaded/hard stuff too. No decaf for me.

My doc said NO caffeine AT ALL. He says it dilates the esophagus......who know....I have not heard that philosophy from anyone else though. I stayed away from it for about 3 weeks and gave in. Some mornings I just need it!!

I love coffee! I drink 2-3 cups a day. Caf before 3pm and de-caf after 3pm. Coffee has been a life saver for me. I add my protein powder to my coffee instead of creamer.
