I am 57 and am having my lap band on March 12th. I'm glad to see that there are people my age having success with this surgery.

I am scheduled for surgery on March 26. Have you started your liquid diet yet?

I'm 57 and was banded 12-3. I'm REALLY happy with my band . . . and am now anxiously awaiting my second fill because I'm starting to have to really yell at myself to STOP eating lol . . . I'm feeling better . . . I'm moving better (except my arthritis in my back) . . . and I was getting to the point where I thought I wasn't going to be able to even stand up and not walk with a cane anymore. I wouldn't trade this band for anything! Good luck to all!

2 more days and i'm a wreck. the 21 of march is band day and i dont think i'll be able to sleep til after surgery. i quit smoking a year ago so had to put patch on to prevent me from smoking that's how nervous i am so ready for this i can't stand it. i'm actually looking forward to eating nothing,(i'm nuts) but i'm so ready for this and to get this weight off...............susie

apples2..........thanks for the reply.........i leave for the airport at 2:30am, i have 1hr and 15 min. to drive. plane leave at 5 am wow thats too too early for me. but will let u know how things went as soon as i can. thanks again.....susie
