question with those who may have enlarged prostate

I am taking Terazosin (twice a day in capsule form) in order to be able to urinate freely. I have not been banded yet. Two questions:

1) will I be able to take my meds in capsule form from Day One on?
2) will they be absorbed into my bloodstream as usual?

If not, I'll end up in the Emergency Room.....

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

You should check with your pharmacist if it is ok to crush the pills (some pills should not be crushed). If it is ok, then you can buy a pill crusher for around $5. I had to use this for the first month after surgery for my meds. In terms of absorbtion, the band is different than bypass in that in does not slice and dice the stomach which can lead to absorbtion issues, so I don't think you'll have any problems there (But check with your dr just to be sure !)
