Yeah, the first 24-48 are the worst , but it subside quickly, hang in there you'll do fine. I knew you'd like Dr. Salimitari, you can't help but like him, he's awesome, by far one of the best Dr's. I've ever dealt with and I deal with a lot of them being a nurse. Glad to hear everything went well for you.

I had a few questions maybe someone can help me out with?
1. Since Thursday (Aug. 27) I've lost 15 lbs, is that normal is that ok? I mean loosing weight that quick cant be right.
2. What do I do when I experience massive hunger? Last night I was going mentally crazy because my stomach was full but my intestines where empty and crying out for food and the broth was not subdoing the hunger pains it was giving me. What can I do?
3. Should I take my bandages off to make sure the scar tissue is healing correctly or wait til thursday doc visit?
Does anyone else have any advise? |

Amy, though Dr Sal said he was going to give me his number I think he forgot due to the fact I was the last person he operated on, when I woke up everyone was gone but me lol, and the nurses wanted me to wake up quickly so they could go home. Anyways is there anyway you can share that nuber with me? if so email it at castillo_ken@yahoo.com |

Does any one else have difficulties with their adjustments? Dr. Salimitari says I'm a "tricky" fill, I've had problems with almost every fill I've had. The average person that could tolerate 2-3cc fill on the first fill, I could only do 1.8cc.the 2nd fill was done by Dr. T, and that was a nightmare, he put 1cc and didn't care how easily I could drink, I threw up for 1 solid month. Several times after a fill I have to go back to have some taken out, or I've become so dehydrated I'm on IV fluids. I just had another fill 1 week ago today, I did good for the first 2 days, then when I returned to my regular diet, problems began again. I now have lost 11 lbs. in 1 week, I'm getting very dehydrated again. I'm hoping I'm not the only one that has these problems. I'm getting very frustrated, I'm beginning to wonder if this was all worth it, I am 8 months post-op, I've lost 64 lbs, but it hasn't been any easier than any other diet I've done. I'm considered just stopping this whole process, I would love to hear from you if you also have these problems. |

well, since no one replied to my last entry, I assume no one else has any problems with their fills. That's great, I'm really glad for you. I guess I truly am Dr. Salimitari's "problem" patient. He has dealt with so many problems with me, it just seems unfair to keep putting him through all of my complications, most Dr's. would have probably given up by now. He really is one-of-a-kind, we are all lucky to have such a caring Dr. |

Hi Sam & Amp, welcome to Dr. Salimitari's forum. I can't tell by your profile if you've actually had a consultation with Dr. Salimitari or not, but in my opinion, you have found the best Dr. out there. He is one of the most requested Dr's. in Calif. doing hundreds of these surgeries every year. He is very conserned with his patients and their outcome, he explains things thoroughly, I think if you take the time to have a consultation with him, you will be able to make a good decision. You are lucky you have someone to go through it with you, I don't know about the others out here, but sometimes it's difficult going through it alone, stick together, and stick with Dr. Salimitari and I think you'll be very happy with your decisions. Good luck. |

To anyone out there that is thinking about going through 1-800-get-slim (Top Surgeons) you should be aware that these people don't seem to have their patients in their best intrest. I was diagosed with an ulcer in June by Top Surgeons, since then my Dr. has been trying to get the records from them so I can get a follow up EGD to see if the ulcer is healed. When I called for the records they wanted to charge me for them (I'm a cash paying patient) therefore I basically already paid for them. But 5+ requests and a month later my Dr. still doesnt' have the records, so my insurance won't cover the EGD. Then some manager named "Brenda" e-mails me to say if I have any problems to call her, well, I've left 2 messages with her and she still hasn't returned my calls. You would think that these somewhat educated people would know that bad word-of-mouth spreads much faster than good. Well to sum it all up they only seem to care about you as long as they get your money, beyond that I don't see much compassion in them. Good luck with making a decision, just be careful! |

IKBICE............. you are going to have to pull teeth to get your records from them!!! Send me a private message and I will tell you how to get them..... calling them is nothing but a game with them. Call centers suck! and I like you left NUMEROUS MESSAGES all nice and polite and clearly spoken and NO CALL BACKS! EVER! and then they say the did not get the message... PLEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZEEEEEE.
Sorry Brenda but you are no better than the rest of them.
Scarey practice over there... yall should tone down your commercials or simply take them off the air and care for your patients in the way they should be cared for. Answering your calls and helping your patients. Nope it is all about getting the buck..... As for Dr Sal, I have heard nothing but good about this man. Kudos to him. If I were him I would get the "H" away from Top Surgeons and save his future. I would not want my name associated with them.
I would tell anyone considering Top Surgeons , Weightloss Centers to run for your life!!!!!!!!!!!

Happyhomecc,
don't be afraid to post your comments for everyone to see, I don't mind the private messages, but other people need to know what we've all gone through with top surgeons. Dr. Salimitari has left top surgeons, he will do well where ever he goes just because he is such a compasionate, caring person. He is the only reason I stayed with top surgeons. They screwed up on my insurance so bad, I ended paying cash for my surgery, then they cancelled my pre op EGD without my Dr. knowing it, so when I began to have some major problems they did the EGD in June, they found I had an ulcer (my surgery was in Jan.) But Dr. Salimitari is so awesome, he's always been there for me, even when I went to BH for the EGD, no one there had any idea what I was there for, thank goodness Dr. Sal came out and took charge, I was so upset with everything, I was very anxious about the whole thing. Dr. Salimitari was by my side through the whole thing, he was there when they put me to sleep and still there when I woke up. I cannot say enough about Dr. Salimitari, if it wasn't for him, I would have quite this whole process by now. With some of the problems I've had, I just wanted to give up, but he is always there to encourage me. I've had some problems the last 2 days with pain, vomiting etc.. but I know I can't let him down, I just have to work through it. I know what you mean about the unprofessionalism at the BH office. I witnessed an incident one day that I was apolled at, this Dr. Simoa was so childish, after a few words with another Dr. he began talking crap about him after he left, then got the nurse involved, then the front office girls chimmed in, I was discusted by the whole thing, and he had no reguard for the patients that had to listen to him, trying to get the employees to agree with him. anyway, Dr. Sal is the only reason I stayed, I have worked with a lot of Dr.'s over the past 18 years I've worked in the medical field, but I have never met one quite like him. |
