Dr. Pompa did my band also. I agree with BELLA 1113. She was very sensitive to my needs. She addressed all my concerns and put my mind at ease.

I was not banded, but she did my Roux-en-Y last week. I met several banded patients who were very satisfied. My case was complicated by my age, my diabetes and the fact that my surgery was for the diabetes and not much weight loss. She was very knowledgeable and the staff in her clinic treated my daughter and me like royalty. We were very satisfied.

I was banded by dr Pompa on 5-12-08 and there was a few times i felt a little wierd and was wondering if i made the right decision but now that i am healed I feel that it was the best decision ive ever made. She was a very sweet woman and her staff was great and for the most part spoke english. Tiajuana is a dump but the clinic was nice and so was my hotel |

Hmmm.... many newbies posting here only for the sake of telling how great Dr. Pompa is. Heck, even RNY patients are coming to a band board to tell how great their doc is.
Interesting. Certainly not obvious in the least. ;o)

No I really just get on here occasionally to see if what im feeling is normal i definately am not on here to bash people or spend my time obsessing about weight loss surgery- Thankfully got better things to do! And everytime I think something is not right i get on here and see that many people are also experiencing the same things I am proving that she is a very capable surgeon. Dr Pompa brush these haters off!!!!!!

You said it well! Liz Pompa is a very good doctor. How do I know. I know her personaly. I have my own weight loss center , Lap Band International,so for me to say a surgeon, from another clinic, is good should tell you something. She is young and not as experienced as some others but that doesnt disqualify her. She is not a Mayo grad but her skill is excellent. Yes, she does Betancourt patients. If there were to be a problem that may be where it is. But Dr. Pompa, yes, a good doctor an a caring person.

Exactly and that is why as bubblebutt would say "newbies" posting good stuff about her because she is a newer dr. .....Hello---and i just have to say that i was not smart and did not do my research before hand like i should have but if i did then i would not have gone through with my surgery because of what people who have no experience with her says--i would not have been able to afford anyone else and would not have the hope that i have now--if anyone who has actually had a bad experience with her wants to share their story fine but i just cant believe how many want to trash talk her for no reason--there gotta be $omething driving them to do it

Yes, amayazmami, its true that people will behave in a ruthless manner when it comes to the $$$. Competition. Sad to say, isnt it.
I just had a conversation with our Bariatric Surgeon last night about this subject. He said there is no reason to post bad about others, the truth will find them out on its own. Liz Pompa has a good practice and she will do well. Just like the bad things about someone will catch up to them, the good will show to. ALL doctors have a percentage of complications, that just goes with the territory. Sites like LBT give patients the opportunity to research and make a more informed decision for themselves. Lap Band International, posts all the information about our doctors, so nothing is hidden. We would rather that a patient chooses us after research so they are informed and happy with their decision.

I am NOT a hater and have nothing negative to say about Dr. Liza.... but I do wish to point out to all of those who are researching docs how ALL of these 'satisfied' people have like 5 posts or less... you might want to do your research on this and not go just by the word of the newbies... Even people who are researching often post BEFORE the surgery... JMHO.

I'm certainly not trashing Dr. Pompa. I'm merely questioning the new posts all the sudden that come here only to boost Dr. Pompa and attempt to trash me. Historically, only patient coordinators do that.
Just saying...

| A Very Satisfied Patient of Liza Pompa Gonzales
I was banded by Doctor Pompa on May 22, 2008, and was very satisfied not only with Dr Pompa and her surgical facilities, but equally with her wonderful staff who attended to us beautifully throughout our stay in a very professional and caring manor.
I went to Doctor Pompa in spite of reading the supposed negative review - because it didn't give specifics...just wandering generalities about her experience. Perhaps that poster (or poser) should consider politics.
I had no intention of ever posting anything on this forum, but to make false acusations against a good, hard working health care provider is WRONG.
Good work Alex on calling these people out.

Perhaps the other "newbies" were as incensed by your comments as I was and were motivated to let others know of our "personal" experience with the Doctor. She seems to have lots of patients, so it shouldn't surprise you that a small percentage of us would be wanting to set the record straight, would it?
