Dr Pleatman - Birmingham, Michigan

Dr. Pleatman performed my surgery in March, and I would recommend him to anybody interested in WLS. He is a laproscopic specialist who started performing WLS in July 2002. He is located in Birmingham, Michigan and operates out of North Oakland Medical Center. He accepts insurances but charges $3500 to each patient. That money covers any expenses not covered by insurance, all fills, and any follow up work such as port repairs etc. It's kind of like "give once for good". He also has made arrangements with a group of surgeons in Tijuana, and for $10,000 will fly to Mexico and perform the surgery. My wife is scheduled for surgery, in Mexico, this September. I am located in Bloomfield Hills, MI
I no longer go to Mexico to do surgery, as I have negotiated a good package price with one of our hospitals here in the USA. Total for LAP-BAND®, including surgery, anesthesia, hospital, and 2 years of fills, is about $12,500.

I will also see patients who have been banded elsewhere. I have 2 options: either pay $250 for the first fill and $150 for subsequent fills, or $2000 for 2 years of unlimited fills, dietitian visits, support, etc.
