Ramona,
I am also looking for someone who has had experience w/ Bajanor. So far, I've had one person email me to say she had a good experience there but it would be nice to hear more.
I'll keep you posted if you'll do the same for me...
Thanks,

If you have found out any information, or have been banded by Bajanor, please let me know. I'm very interested, but I've not read many testimonials.
thanks!

I know three people who have been to Bajanore since October '04 and they are all three doing great - they haven't reported any complications. I am scheduled for 8/25 - very nervous, but my best friend did it there - she is an RN at a hospital and was completely confident in the doctor, the facility, etc. We'll see! /chris

I have heard of Banjor but not of the Dr.
I'm sure if you do a search on here using the keyword Banjor you may find some info
What has made you look into Banjor? Is it the price in Mexico?
Going to Mexico is a risk in itself so in my opinion you want the best and the most experienced in Mexico, cheapest is not always best..ask how many bands this Dr. has preformed, ask for references, call them. That is what I did when I went with the Dr. I chose to use in Tj, and he was not the cheapest by any means, I could of had it done for alot less in Tj but I went with experience as well. I have been extremely happy with my Dr. and his entire staff this past 16 months they have bee n there for me every step of the way and have gone above and beyond any care I have ever recieved here i nthe U.S.
Best of Luck to you, I hope you find the info you are looking for :)

Do ask on several different boards. For the very good doctors, you will have a very large number of replies. don't go by just a few. Ask the doctor for references for the medical people he has banded -doctors, nurses, dentists, etc. all the very good doctors have banded many of these, and I would tend to trust them. Renee

I'm a happily banded Bajanor patient Dr. Miguel (Allessandri) assisted Dr. Covarrubias, it was my 5th abdominal surgery and my second banding. I was banded on 4/3/06 and I'm recovering well, a little rough at first due to fibromyalgia complicating recovery. I had a mid-band placed (4cc band). I would love to give any info on the mid-band if you haven't decided on the type of band yet. I love mine. It was a nice small clinic and I was taken good care of, stayed my second night at the beautiful Hotel Lucerna (a large pharmacy by the hotel if planning on getting medications filled while there), and then flew home. They have 4 rooms, an exam room, incubator room, surgery area, a waiting area with 2 love seats and 2 sofas and then Dr. Carlos's office and the room(s) he does his procedures. They do plastic surgery and other cosmetic procedures there if scheduled in advance. They had a dentist sign out front but not sure if they actually have one in office. They also have an ambulance. Private message me with any questions. I had a couple of posts about Bajanor on this forum but both times spelled the name as Banajor so is you look back your might find more information from those posts. I also recommend contacting Islandmom, samathatx, and Mithow, they helped me.
I think for the price it was great. I paid my own airfare and then paid Bajanor $6900, that was for my mid-band, surgery, aftercare, medication, and one night at the Hotel Lucerna.
Good Luck, April

I was recently banded at Bajanor hospital on 033106. I have not had any complications from the surgery. I went done on Friday the 31st, early flight and had surgery that evening, stayed the night at the Lucerna on Saturday night and flew back Sunday to Texas. I went back to work on Tuesday. If you have any questions, just PM.
Good Luck!
sam

Ladies, I have heard of Bajanor Dr. Alassandri (think I spell wrong) He has been charged with Insurance Fraud. Look up the web site for Insurance Fraud in TJ. I used The Molding Clinic and they were awsome and reasonable. Check out web site The Molding Clinic, Dr. Martinez

I'm a very happy Banajor patient as of 4/3/06. I paid cash as most americans going there do so the insurance fraud doesn't affect us really. Which Dr. Alessandrini? Dr. Carlos or Dr. Miguel? They are brothers.
Dr. Miguel assisted in my surgery and Dr. Covarrubias was my primary surgeon. I'd happily go back again, not that I'm saying insurance fraud is okay, it's just when money is an issue and you can get such qualified surgeons for such a great price, then it makes ins. fraud seem like a minor problem to me. I don't know anything about The Molding Clinic or Dr. Martinez to make a comment on that.
Good luck all, April

Surgery Tomorrow! I had a great experience and all will go well for you too. Be warned Dr. Carlos often forgets his patient name sign for at the airport but he will be over by the baggage claim, looking like a slick hispanic man well dressed and slim. He'll probably be on his cell and watching for someone walking around looking for someone and then come up to you. Dr. Miguel is a great surgeon, he assited on me with Dr. Covarrubias as my primary surgeon. It was my 6th abdominal surgery and they were still able to place my band laporscopically! My port is slightly tilted so make sure they get it tied down good, also you want the "pars flaccida" techinique for band placement since it has a lower slippage rate than the older technique. So make sure to ask the pars flaccida technique by name when you meet with the surgeon.
Do you fly out in the morning? How exciting! What type of band are you getting? Are you staying at The Hotel Lucerna the night after surgery? It's such a beautiful hotel and has email in the lobby. I ordered in chicken broth, jello and tea. It wasn't expensive. Dr. Carlos will give you liquid pain medication and anitbiotics to take with you to the hotel. It is still a good idea to take gas-x (and make sure to move around since most the pain is either at the site of your port or the gas in your abdominal area or behind and between your shoulders) with you, maybe some liquid tylenol to help if you have break through pain (the stuff they gave for pain made me pretty sleepy), and I took those instant heat patches made to go around your waist and heat your back but they work great turned around and the heat feels great on the stomach area. The Hotel Lucerna doesn't have microwaves in it's rooms or fridges, but they have a coffee maker (I brought tea bags so just used the coffee maker to make hot water so I could sip on tea) They provide 2 bottles of water for free in the room. There is a pharmacy across from the fountain in front of the Hotel if you are planning on getting prescriptions filled while there.
My only complaint is getting them to let you know what time they'll be picking you up from the hotel and then taking you to the air port. I only had 10 minutes to spare before my flight since they were running late.
Good luck on surgery tomorrow! April
