I am 10 lbs away from goal. I have been since Dec. I have never been one to lose every single week, but I think it's about time now. I am eating right
and exercising 6 days a week.
Someone told me I need a fill. I don't think I do because I get full on very small portions. I stay full for about 3 hours. People say you need a fill if you stop losing. I am afraid to get one because I have been overfilled and that was horrible. I haven't pbed in a long time, but I hate to base whether I need one or not on that. I just chew very well.
To fill, or not to fill?

The most obvious questions I have is related to the "10# from goal" status....
1) how was that chosen, and do you know it is appropriate?
2) If you were "already AT goal" what would lead you to determine whether you needed a fill or not?
3) From the usual experience I have observed, the 'last 10#' are the HARDEST to loose, regardless of what program we follow.
Congratulations on your success!!!
IMHO, the issue of 'why' we want to fill must always be open to review and revision of our own opinion. Along with 'goal weight' what metrics demonstrate how you are eating and exercising are the 'proper amount'....

Well, I am only 5'2". If I lost 10 more lbs, I would still be overweight. I think at my age, I must be realistic. I looked at pictures of me from when I was younger and I know what I weighed in that picture. It was 145.
That was how I determined I need to lose 10 more lbs. I have a lot of muscle in my legs now, and there is all that talk about muscle weighing more than fat. Sometimes I wonder if I didn't have that muscle, how much would I weigh. I still have a belly I would like to go down. No matter how many crunches I do, it's not going anywhere.

I am going to repeat what Dr Oz told a guest on Oprah one day. She complained that she was exercising regularly and eating well, but that after age 40 she just gained a few pounds every year and now finds herself with 15 - 20 pound to lose.
He told her that after 40, we need to work harder. He told her that she needed to get her heart rate up higher for longer periods of time during exercise. ie: work out harder for longer.
I know just how hard the last 10 pounds are. But it is worth it. Keep up the hard work. I agree that you do not need a fill, just need to adjust your exercise. See you at the gym.

Thanks Paulax! I read your countdown to goal and it was very inspiring.
My trainer told me that I have at least 10 lbs of muscle since I have been weight training for 4 years now. That made me feel better. I lost 3 lbs too. It took since Dec. to lose 3 lbs, so even if takes 3 more months to lose 3 more, I will be happy that I am headed in the right
direction.
After all, I haven't weighed been at this weight since my kids were born, 25 years ago. I am glad I love the gym!
