After 3 minutes I was almost passed out on the floor choking for breath. I did manual and level 1. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe I will just stick to the treadmill until I lose a little bit more weight for now.

I then went to the pool and did 45 mins of water aerobics, but my legs are still wobbly from that eliptical machine.

I was wondering how to burn more caloreis at the gym. I get an hr of cardio at the gym everyday (thats all the time i have i have a full time job and little ones at home) and the machines are telling me i am only burning 300 calories for that hr. I have read some post saying that some people are burning 8oo calories and hr is this because they are running their a** off. I am doing much better then i did several months ago (i can now do 3.7 and a 2 percent incline on the treadmill when i started i could only do 2.5 no incline) I am now on level 3 on the bike but i am still 225lbs and can't run on the treadmill for more then a few mins. I do 20 mins on three machines every day. Does more calorie burning just come with time as you loose more weight you can go faster and up you levels. I want to be able to get the most out of my work out.

I posted this question in the General Forum, but discovered that it might be more appropriate here.

How do you do it? I'm worried that after I get the band it's going to be hard for me to get enough water during/after exercise and I'm afraid of dehydrating myself (which I am prone to). I generally guzzle a bottle of water following a workout, but have heard that that won't be possible with the band. I'll have to try to take sips during my work out.

The thing is, I'm planning on training for the Rock n' Roll Marathon which will happen in June in San Diego, CA. Do you think I'll be able to keep myself hydrated enough to run 27 miles? Help please...

Thanks in advance!

I didn't go all the way through this thread so I don't know if someone already posted this. If so, I apologize and please excuse the repetition.

I recently came across a website that has free workouts, both mini workouts and full length ones from 10 minutes up to 45 or in some cases longer . It's ExerciseTV You can download the workouts but that costs money. If you just stream through your computer it's free and they have a lot of categories - dance, Yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, sculpting, cardio, etc.

I don't know about you all, but boredom really affects my exercise routine. I lose motivation when I get bored. With this website ,there are so many different workouts to choose from that I shouldn't get bored for quite some time. Not everything is suitable for me, so I watch a couple of minutes and if it isn't too far above my fitness level, I back it up and do it.

Now you have another resource! :)

Anyway...I plan on purchasing an elliptical trainer and have pretty much decided I like the Smooth brand models the best. I am looking at the the CE 7.4 or the DMT X1. But the lower end model may be just as good.
Does anyone have a Smooth brand elliptical? What is your level of satisfaction with the product?? Are you satisfied with the level of service? Any problems? I really would like to see one and try one, but they sell directly from the manufacturer online only.
any input would be appreciated!

After losing my 3rd generation Nano (*sadface*), my Boy bought a 5th gen for me to use at the gym (*happyface*).

I have a dilemma, however. I know that I can use the iPod without an armband, but I think it would really make my life easier if I had one. My upper arms are really fat, though, and I'm concerned that I'll purchase one only to discover that it doesn't fit.

Does anyone have experience with 5th generation iPod Nano armbands? Will any fit around my unfortunately huge upper arms? I would also like for it to work with the Nike+ sensor.

I was also wondering how those who use it calibrated their Nike+ system. Treadmill? Elliptical? On the sidewalk?

Thanks everyone!
