It's been one week since my surgery. I'm glad it's over because I was so nervous. So far, the only problem I've had is the pain on Sunday/Monday (doctor saw me and it was just some irritation in the muscle) and also constipation. (I finally just went a few minutes ago....OMG, thank goodness!)

When I had my pre-op I was weighing in at 273 and my BMI was a whopping 43.

When I weighed at the doctor Monday, I was 264. On my scale last night, I was 264 as well so I guess I'll trust my home scale enough for my weekly weight log.

Anyway, I'm excited! I'm on soft foods and I'm really glad because the liquid only diet was kind of scary because I was hungry a lot. I was wondering if the band would really help me. Now, after having soft foods for a couple days I am confident that very small amounts of food will make me full. I will have to get used to not drinking with my food though when I start solids in a couple weeks. That will be the real challenge. I know I can do it though. Yay for medical science!
