    I cried lastnight...

    Hi!

I'm sorry you had a sad moment...I'm sure I'll have several before this is over!

About your security "blanket", maybe take a class in something? I was just thinking about a friend of mine who went through a divorce and threw herself into everything to stay positive--it worked! (and eventually she had to slow down) She joined support groups, saw a therapist, took up contra dancing, joined a hiking club, and started participating in 5k walks for charities.

    Glad you are feeling better!

five more day to my banding

    Hey Becky,

I am getting banded next Wednesday too. I am doing the pre op diet. High protein low carbs. I am excited and getting a little jittery too. I pray God will be with us all and we will get a new lease on life.

    I cried lastnight...

i felt the same way in the beginning. see the thing is--at least for me--food is still my comfort.

when i'm celebrating i go out to eat. when i'm sad--i'll have a snack that evening. i still eat what i love--crab cakes, potatoes and soups (yes even cream based ones). i just do all this in small portions.

so the difference is..when i have a crappy day and feel the urge to binge..as most of us have...i stop myself...i say "ok i can treat myself today one time" and i stick to it.

a typical day for me (like today) is:

breakfast: cereal (Just a half a cup)

lunch: 1 small crab cake & 4 bites of potatoes (quite a bit of dipping sauce)

dinner: potato soup with a few croutons

See, i eat what i want...and i enjoy it too. After you get past the first 6-8 weeks--it will get easier. Just don't cheat...trust that this will work for you..and i promise you..when you lose some weight and people come up to you saying "damn girl" you will not want to binge. just take my word for it.

    Good luck to ya!!

    Named my Band

    My band is named Phillip.

    (Fill Up)

He has served me well. We have our 5 month anniversary in 2 weeks and I have lost 60. Size 12!!!
    More to go....

Good luck with Caligula. Let her heal first; start moving (exercise), get those fills and watch her work!

    Feeling good and Feeling bad!!!!!

Karen, first of all girly, give your self a pat on the back and some credit. Your accoplishments are one step closer to your goal. I weigh 215 and my bmi is 42. Yes, I'm a short one. I carry a lot of my weight in my legs and butt. Therefore, I hate shopping for any kind of pants ecspecially jeans. My thighs are so big I have a super hard time finding pants. Most of the time when I buy pants they are tight and I just have to stretch them.
=0( SO.....my point here is instead of looking on the bad side count your blessings. I know that when you're the person on the outside looking in, it's easier said than done. Chin up girl! Keep working out. If you lose 18lbs more, you will be under 200. I know I would be stoked! You should be too! Keep up the good work and applaud your sucess big or small. If you don't recognize the good you've done you may back track. Be positive and keep moving on up! LOL!

    Now addicted to running!

I too, was a runner in high school and would love to get back into it. It always made me feel so good. I have knee problems and issues just walking on the treadmill, but will continue until I am back running. Just wanted to let you know that I am also in TX. You said you were waiting for -90 degrees to try my soup recipe. Since it is all I can eat right now I have ot muddle through even at 90+ degrees. Good luck with the running and I hope to be joining you on the road soon. Take care.

Chin up, we can do this together
