| | i have a date for my lap band and trying to make changes in my lifeMy surgery is scheduled, scared tooI feel exactly like you do. My surgery is scheduled for July 29th. I am also scared to lose my "friend" (food)and wondering if I can do it and how it will feel. I congratulate you on your decision to concentrate on yourself. I too work 2 jobs and am finishing up my doctorate next May. I am also feeling the stress of not enough "me " time. Good luck |

| | It's probably "normal"What itching??? I had my surgery in Dec. '07. I've never been sorry, but I do itch all over. I didn't think that was associated with the band. Has someone told you that it is? My daughter had the surgery in Feb. '08 and she isn't having any problems of any kind. |

| | day 4Are you allowed to eat solids? I haven't read your other posts, but your header is "Day 4" so I am wondering if that is ok yet. Also, I was told to avoid coffee because caffeine stimulates the appetite. Don't give up on yourself. You can do this! I am struggling with the post-op hungries, too, and had a shaky days yesterday, but plan to get back on the bandwagon today. Keep trying and the scale will turn around! |

| | I feel like a failure!!!Onmywaydown, You are so right. I have an appointment for Monday and so ready for a fill. I weighed myself yesterday to see where I was. I have gained 15 lbs. So if I can face my doctor on Monday, you can too. Tell me how it goes. I know we will get on track. I have to remind myself that I am not a failure, but I am learning. I am just stumbling around right now. At least I am stumbling. Soon I will be walking up tall!! That is my goal...my desire. |

| | what a winter this is turning out to be!hey thank you!hi krite, thanks for commenting! I know i know...its a bad discusting habit. i do replace them often with those losenges and that helps. I am concerned about it too. I do promise ill get a handle on it soon. When i work out in the mornings, and if its a good aerobic one, i find i can go without them for long stretches during the day. I still have my eye on the problem there. Thanks for looking out for me. :) I mean that. sometimes it feels kinda lonely on this journey and knowing someone cared enough to post means alot. |

| | What If, and Untitled: Two PoemsWhat if all these things are just inside your head? What if you are going to do better than you said? You live for sugar, but it's time to live for you, Easier said than done, yeah, I know that's true. But nothing in life worth having is ever easy to get, So just keep fighting, reaching for that goal, don't give up just yet. You are worth fighting for so put on the gloves and get ready to fight because you will defeat this cookie monster and win this battle for life! okay so I know I am no poet, but I think you get the gist, so now I am ending this bad rhyming and all I am saying is DON'T QUIT! Your friend, Cheryl |

| | Progress? Yup, progress!!!redheather - first congratulations! That is amazing! How did the weight come off so fast? Can you give me some idea what your daily menus are and if you are working out regularly? I was banded in early April and have only lost 2 or 3 pounds since my surgery. I fee like a failure. I have been unable to work out because I have two slipped vertebrae, but I have been eating about half of what I used to. Give me some hints on your success. I'd love to hear! Again, Congratulations!!! |

| | I feel like a failure!!!I know exactly how you are feeling. I too have only lost about 3 pounds since my surgery which was the beginning of April 2008. I keep cancelling my appointments for another fill, just to try to loose some weight before I go in because I know the doctor is going to have a fit when he sees that I'm not loosing. But I think it's a game I'm playing with myself. My suggestion is to schedule your doctor's appointment and get back on track. That's exactly what I'm doing. In just a couple of days. I'm going to get my second fill and I hope that will help quite a bit. Right now I have no restriction. I know once we get the proper fill amount, this is a very successful tool. So, get on the phone and get back on track. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE - AND I'M NOT GOING TO BE EITHER. Have a good week. |
