Just had my Post Op

I went for my post op this week and I am doing great! The shoulder pain finally stopped...thank GOD!! and I am down 18 pounds from my pre surgery weight which I think is really great. Now that I am eating pretty much what i want it is increasingly difficult to eat right, but I am doing fairly well. I have no restriction at all other than the band itself so eating is easy. Technically I am suppose to be on soft foods but the dr. said I coudl have soft meats and fish etc. I have been tolerating all that really well. The only issue I have had is that I meesed around and ate pizza one night. I did ok with the pizza part but like a dummy I ate the crust and man did it hurt....do not try that at home! I just had to wait it out there was nothign I could do and it wasn't ocming back up. Other than that I am doing well. I got for my first fill on the 19th and I am really excited. I can eat almost as much as I coudl before and I keep getting hungry. I know that will change once I get a fill so I am just loking forward to that. I really want to get to my Christmas goal and I need to lose 18 more pounds to do it!!

I am at the beginning of this process, meet with the surgeon on Wed. I have read that once banded you can no longer eat breads. I see from your posts that you have ate them and it appears it made you sick? Can you give me more detail regarding what happens? I'm hoping it will help keep me away from it after I am banded. Thanks & Good luck =)Posted 11-07-2009 at 12:15 AM by alilash
