I'm two weeks out from my surgery and feeling great. I'm so glad to finally be banded and recovering. The gas pains in my shoulder were terrible last week but I've been pain free for a solid week. All of the steri-strips are off and my incisions look pretty good. I have 5. I've only lost one pound this week but I'm not going to worry. I think my body has been just leveling off after last week's dramatic loss. I'm really happy to report that I've been caffeine, dessert, and alcohol free for 2 weeks. I've also stuck to the diet pretty well, drank the water, walked A LOT and taken the vitamins.

I set a few goals for myself this week. Mainly I'm going to work hard on sticking to the 1/2 - 3/4 portion sizes. Since the swelling has gone down my appetite is returning. I followed the diet to the T today and feel satisfied. The key is eating 6 times a day.

Oh an interesting thing happened this week. I had my teeth cleaned and the hygenist had to work for a long time to get a mystery gray film off my teeth. She thinks it could have been from the anesthesia. Anesthesia and me are not friends.

My challenges thus far has been few, but mostly it's not drinking with meals and watching portion sizes. I've also found myself moving onto soft foods a little sooner than I'm supposed to (I just chewed like a million times). In all honesty - it hasn't been that hard to follow the diet.

I did take measurements before surgery and despite losing 13 pounds my waist measurement is exactly the same. I'm going to have to assume there is still some swelling.

Energy level is pretty high, though I do find I need a nap from time to time.

I'm really looking forward to my first doctor's visit May 6th and hitting that 20 pound mark.

Tomorrow I officially start soft foods.

Good luck to everyone who is going through this process and thanks for all the kind words.
