Can band get tighter by itself?

Hi there!
I had my surgery 1 year ago, lost 70 lbs
, 30 more to go...
1/2 year after the surgery I finally got filled-in in a way I wanted it, so I started loosing weight faster.
However, for the last couple of days I feel like the band got tighter.
Is that possible? Did that happen to any of you?
I only can drink now. If I try to eat, the food just stays there, so I end up throwing it up. I have been throwing up before if I wasn't able to diagest, or if I ate too much. Could I have weaken the muscle that keep the food? Could that be the reason behind what's happening with me now?...
I'll appreciate your inputs!

I have only had my band for three months, but the last fill was so tight, I choked on a peice of meat and it stayed lodged for three days. Anything I put in after that (solid) came back. First time I had thrown up! I read another post from a girl who had hers about a year, she mentioned dialation of the stomach pouch above the band, and had to have the liquid withdrawn and it fixed. The pouch swells up making the band feel tighter. You need to call your surgeon, and please keep me posted as to the results.

Hey just had this experience also. Go right back to basics, like just post op, slowly sipping liquids. Because you threw up the stomach swelled, then you try more stuff and throw up visious circle give it a coupl eof days of liquid and let the swelling go down and then proceed slowly. it worked for mePosted 11-06-2009 at 12:45 AM by Chooky

Thank you for your replies and concerns!
Swelling of the stomack - that makes sense. "Visious Circle" - that's exactly describes what was happening to me. I intuitively got back to liquids, but I wasn't sure if I actually done any permanent damage. I feel much better after reading your postings - thank you so much!
I'd like to ask you if you tried Papaya extract of if you heard of anybody using it? Do you think Tums helps in any way?Posted 11-06-2009 at 05:12 AM by danimila
