This is my journal towards weight loss. This is where I can come and put everything out there. I have kept my decision to myself. The only person besides my doctor that know is my husband. (I finally told my best friend too!) My kids know I had surgery, but not what kind. They are in jr. high so they are too preoccupied to ask what kind of surgery although they have been treating me great!
I've had goals, met them and made new ones. This is finally becoming a lifestyle for me. It has taken about 3 months for that to happen. I know that I can fall off the wagon if I'm not careful. Luckily the band helps me be careful.
My life is quickly becoming "Band-tastic".
(Sorry, I couldn't help myself! )

I’ve already begun to pull clothes out of my closet I haven’t worn in years. And that started just a week post-op and continues. I can’t believe it. I am already ….um…..more comfortable with my husband. Okay that was kind of weird putting that down. I’ve moved to weighing myself on the Wii Fit. It says that I’ve lost a total of 27 lbs and I’ve got from a BMI of 49 to 44.11. That is amazing! I was embarrassed of my BMI even on the boards, but I feel more “normal” for a new bandster now. I’ve upped my calories to 1000-1200 per day. I think that is where I need to be to keep the weight moving and I plan to start back to the gym this week. I haven’t gone to the gym regularly since about May. I hope that will jump start my weight loss even more. I still worry about my port and band and I can’t wait until my first fill. Not just for the fill but to be reassured that everything is ok with my port and band. I don’t know what I will do if I need a revision. Self pay means I definitely have to worry about that stuff!

Isn't it wonderful to go shopping in your own closet! I loved that! I'm now at the point that I have no more smaller clothes, I have to go buy new ones now. ouch.

    Congratulations on your NSV'S!

PS - I know exactly how you feel when you say "I am already ….um…..more comfortable with my husband". I'm finally to that point too, no more "in the dark" lol.

I agree, with all of the above. I have 2 more sizes to go through in my closet and I'm off to good will. I'm not spending alot of money on clothes until I get down to goal. AND the dark thing......I'm just now getting my mojo back now that I'm down 45lbs so I know what you mean LOL

It is good to know there are other people with the same goals as myself. I am a Mom of 4 young children, (my oldest is 8) and I too want to do this for them. I'm and LPN, and I know this won't be easy but I am ready to undo the damage I've done! I will be banded in December and I can't wait to shop in my closet, then my ultimate goal is to NEVER shop in a "Big Girl" store again! It will be a long road, but I'm exicted. Oh and I too have chosen to keep my band a secret!!LOl that way there are no expectations! Good luck to us both!

That is awesome! It is so much fun. Wait until you get to the point that you really like your wardrobe and your almost pleasantly frustrated that clothes are not fitting right because they are too big. You will get there!
