I'm on the other side!

Banded Monday, home by 5:30 that night. It's now Thursday and I'm doing okay. Some pain with the gas but not too horrible. More irritating than anything else. Using the Gas-x strips and that helps. The thing that surprised me though is the constipation. UGH! This is like nothing I've ever experienced before. Finally got a little relief this AM. I've added some PlumSmart to my list of things to drink during the day to help. I hope it helps soon!!
Went into surgery weighing 209.6 but came home that night weighing 216.9. Thought that was kind of funny! As of this AM I'm back down to 211.6 Interesting what the fluids and gas does to you!
Took the bandages off this AM. Everything looks good. Sutures on the inside, glue to the outside. Shouldn't have too much scarring but I'm going to use Emu Oil on them to make sure. Not like I don't mind the scares but why not help them if I can?
Took a shower for the first time this AM too. Sunday PM was the last shower I had (per pre-op orders). It was sooo nice to be in the shower this AM! Took two times to wash my hair to get it clean. YUCK! But since the surgeon said to wait til Thursday, that's what I did! I thought about trying to wash my hair the other day but couldn't figure out how to do it, even with help, that wouldn't hurt me! I wasn't going anywhere anyway so I just sucked it up and lived with it!
Each day has gotten better as well as a new issue popping up or another resolving itself. It's been an interesting process. I've never had surgery before so had no idea what to expect with any of it.
I'm supposed to be on the shakes for another week. I'll be glad to just go to full liquids after that. I can see the shakes getting old. They're not bad, just getting old. I'm not hungry so that's really nice. Changing it up a little with the PlumSmart is helping.
I'm completely off the pain meds. They gave me an Rx for Hydrocodone and I stopped that Tuesday night. Did liquid Tylenol yesterday AM but nothing since then. I think I'm fine now. If not, then I'll take a little Tylenol before it gets too bad.
Well, that's all I have for now. I hope those coming behind me have such a great experience (or even better)! TTFN!
