Lap Band Paperwork/PCP Appt.

Okay, so I went to my primary care doctor today, with all my paperwork. I was nervous to ask her for the letter of medical necessity so I talked about my foot first. Apparently I have heel spurs and she suggested orthopedic shoes. Uggh! I think I"m going to try a heel pad. She mentioned that it can come from excess weight. I think she was just about to suggest some kind of new diet....ugh..That was the perfect opportunity to bring up the fact that I wanted lap band surgery. She looked king...

First blog [8/24/08]!

My first blog of many to come. I was banded 8/21/08 and am so excited to be fully recovered and to lose weight! I've decided to track my daily intake so I can look back if I ever need to.

I'm still on my first 5 days of clear liquids so this will be a small list.

Half a bottle of Vitamin Water about 4oz.
1 can of chicken broth.
1 cup of sugar-free vanilla pudding.


I'm still having a hard time telling the difference between being hungry

Second Fill

Hi,

I just got my 2nd fill on 8/21 and I really feel the restriction. I know it's the portions because, already, a couple of times I couldn't keep my food down. Should I be going back to eating 6 ounces?

Lots of changes

I haven't posted in over a month, but my life is changing and I am working hard to keep up my progress, since I had a few hard weeks.

I started eating bad stuff around my bday (cake, etc.) and my blood sugar went high for the first time since surgery. I forgot how sick I used to feel! It scared the hell out of me and I am being a very conscientious eater now, going to the gym, etc.

I got my first fill last week and I can feel the difference. Right after the fill, I tried...

How could I forget exercise?

In my blog yesterday, I was wondering how I would be able to make big, big changes with eating, as I do not have too much faith in my self-discipline with food. Then I was reading some other posts and realized that I had forgotten about exercise! I can make it happen with exercise. If I make some mistakes, working out can help me control the damage. I always used to like to exercise, up until about a year ago when I started feeling too cumbersome. I know I will like to again when my body starts...
