Week 2 of C25k

Posted 07-23-2008 at 06:05 PM by Kathybad (Kathybad's Journal)
Ok, I finished week 1 of the Couch to 5k program, and did great. I followed the "Podrunner Interval" program 3 times in week 1, resting on my days off. This included 8 intervals of "run 1 minute, walk 90 seconds".

Now I'm ready to move to Week 2, which is "run 90 seconds, walk 2 minutes". I'm really excited about this!!!

My weight hasn't changed, but I have been eating more calories this week... all pretty much healthy stuff, but a bit more...

Remember what you use to do with your legs?

Posted 07-23-2008 at 04:51 PM by Ollie123
Today as I was bicycling to work I saw a small girl running and it got me thinking about how strong children's legs are and subsequently how weak mine felt at that very moment due to a large hill I had just crested.

When I was a child these were my favorite
things I used my legs for without knowing how much stronger they were making me.
  • leg wrestling
  • Hanging from jungle gym
  • cartwheels
  • splits
  • back handsprings
  • riding a bike
  • 50 yard dash
  • climbing trees
  • balance

Well, it has been awhile since I have posted anything, so let me sum up...

The last few days of the liquid diet were hell. It was so hard. I wanted to cheat so bad. I finally had decided that I was going to cheat and eat a big lunch at McDonalds on Saturday. Then I'd have the rest of Sat to digest and Sunday was all clear liquids and Monday am was the surgery. Well I told my mom, who then told my dad, who then called me and raised hell. He used to be an EMT and all and proceeded...

New insurance...made me weep ... for joy.

Posted 07-23-2008 at 01:46 PM by BikiniBeachy
So many of my friends on this site know this is my second insurance battle. I began in february with Kaiser, and there was a hidden exclusion no one told me about for months after I had jumped a million hoops.

Now I have BCBS through my step-father, and if you check all my posts, there is a very lame $7,500 cap that would leave me with THOUSANDS of dollars left and screw me even worse if anything happened after that that needed surgery that had to do with the band.

Nonetheless,...

Or should I say surprise, surprise. I went on 7/17 for my 3rd fill and after arriving I was told that Dr. T was running late and that he will be in around 1pm. Well my appointment was at 10:15 so I decided to stay. Well after waitin two hours I was told that he wasn't coming in at all!! So they rescheduled my fill for 7/31, I was so mad! So hopefully nothing will interfere next week! I need a fill bad!!!

Be blessed!
