The things I look forward to...

Posted 06-30-2008 at 12:05 PM by leknigh
When I stepped out of the shower last night, I realized that the only clean towels were the "normal" bath towels. All of my "beach size" bath towels were sitting in the dryer not yet put away. Of course a "normal" bath towel doesn't wrap completely around this curvy body and I'm left trying to figure out what parts I want to cover most! Looking in the mirror at the bath towel only going around about 75% (if that) of my body really made me think about all the things...

Posted 06-30-2008 at 10:17 AM by Ollie123
This morning after completing my walk I decided to set a timer to complete some chores before going to work. I set the stove timer to one hour, put in some music and promised myself not to slow down for one hour.

Did it work? Why yes it did. I used to set timers for my children that are now grown and it worked famously. I'm beginning to understand that I'm having to retrain my brain to stay active and become a energized person rather than a lazy one which I've accomplished over the...

I'm 67 - had band on the 25th

Posted 06-29-2008 at 11:05 AM by sblue
I thought the banding was much worse than I had anticipated for the first three days, but I am feeling much better today. I also had hernia repair and assume that adds additional stress on the body. I am really looking forward to being lighter on my knees. The loose skin is a slight concern. Would like to hear from others who recent bandees. Sally

Part 3: Another consultation...To Pay or Not To Pay..??? That is the Question...!

Posted 06-29-2008 at 08:53 AM by gg2007 (GG2007'S LapBand Journey 2008)
Ok Ok i have another consultation on Thursday 3rd July! Im very excited about it but very anxious...this consultation is with the National Health Service and if they approve me then i will not have to go private and self pay for my surgery. My only problem is that from talking to other people who have had it done, because of my high BMI they will try and push me down the gastric bypass route, which i dont want to go down. I really dont want any part of my body, especially if there is nothing wrong...

I'm Banded!

Posted 06-29-2008 at 03:58 AM by cherieinnv
I'm home. I think I am doing great, although energy level is waaaay down. I am able to sleep lying down, but alternate between bed and recliner (pillows behind back feel great!)

My surgery went well and they took me in 5 mins after I got there, and I got there 25 mins early. They prepped me right away and then there was some waiting before the tw Dr. Teng's came in--one brother is the surgeon and the other is the anesthesiologist. I don't remember the anesthesia at all! The last thing...
