Today is (a) the Day!

Posted 04-30-2008 at 03:24 PM by BikiniBeachy
Today I submit my application to the Kaiser Weight Management Department and I couldn't be more excited. It seems the further into the process I go, the less scared I am about surgery, scar tissue, slippage and everything I've heard that initially made me weary.

Because even more likely than those things, is the chance that everything could go OK, I could feel great, this could work, and it could save my life.

Please, send your love JuJu and Luck and Hope and everything...

Post op 6 days

Posted 04-30-2008 at 12:07 PM by Kimburlee
I have to say I feel pretty good today. I accidentally removed a steri-strip from the end of one of my incisions. I need to put a band-aid on it. REALLY excited to have applesauce and soup today!

I continue to sip...sip...sip....and with no straw! I love straws! I've been doing good and am really excited about this new beginning.

My new beginning....

Posted 04-30-2008 at 02:05 AM by Kimburlee
My story is rather lengthy and sorted. I am excited to exclaim that today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I was banded in October of 2003. By October of 2004 I had lost 165 pounds. My problems began somewhere after that point with a slip. My wonderful insurance that paid for my surgery in 2003, would no longer support the band by October 2004. Somehow I missed the announcement, or decision. My problems began after the major weight loss. TriCare would gladly pay for the removal

Sliding backwards

Posted 04-30-2008 at 01:19 AM by mb23
Anyone with words of wisdom for me? Had my surgery a year and a half ago, been doing great until a month ago. I've been sliding backwards and falling into my old habits. Going in for an adjustment tomorrow. Will this do it for me? Do you all go to support groups? Let me know.

Pre Op Liquid Diet - First Day

Posted 04-30-2008 at 12:05 AM by bxlisa
I had my six Optifast drinks - 3 strawberry and 3 chocolate plus I had orange sugar-free Jell-O cup for a snack at work. I also had one sugar free ice pop in the evening. I also had plenty of water and crystal light.

I'm actually feeling ok kind of full and I'm not hungry which is really weird.

But I did have a good “last supper” on Monday – Four slices of Pizza and a big cheese burger.

Will keep you update!
