Babygirl_68's Story
I am a 40 years old black female who has decided to have weight loss surgery as an instrumental tool in my battle in weight management. I have a wonderful husband, Kendall, who supports me in everything that I do. We've been together for 25 years and married for 22 years. I have three (3) beautiful children, Chandralyn, age 10, Adrian age 5, and Nichole, age 3.I decided that I am really not happy with my weight. Regardless of all the things that I have tried, nothing seems to work. I am a yo-yo dieter, always able to lose but never able to maintain any weight loss. In fact, I always gained back more than I lost. I have so many fun things I want to do with my life.Kendall and I went to an informational meeting regarding the lap band system and , after much research and many questions, I made my decision, my surgery of choice is the Lap-Band. Having had lots of lower back issues and other health factors, I know that the time is now to do something before I get too old. I want to be able to look back at my life with no regrets. There are many things that I do not do right now because I just don't feel comfortable in my own skin. And so my wonderful journey begins..... I was miserable with no energy or self esteem. People think when someone is obese it's because they eat all the time and don't exercise. This is unfortunate because it's not necessarily true – like many who are 100 pounds or more overweight, diet and exercise did not work for me.I have already traveled from morbid obesity, through obesity, with a lengthy layover at overweight and finally a touch down into the land of "normal" even if I am just barely there, lol.I have told EVERYONE. even people I don't know that well. I think most negative responses come from those who are not fully educated on the process and unfortunately I will run into people who are not fully educated, but that is ok.. I will help educate them if they want to know and if they don't well that is their loss, because almost everyone is this world knows some one who could benefits from WLS ... I will keep talking to people.. Build my support and don't be afraid to tell people .

Dr. Bradley and his staff or the most kind and helpful people that you could ask for. Any time I call they always have a smile in there voice and on there faces on office visits. Dr. Bradley is the most kind Dr. that I have had, he is always positive when you are not so positive.
