My name is Kanina Crosen. I am currently 26 years old. I have been overweight since my senior year in highschool. I had tried everything from Atkins, Slimfast to Dr. Supervised diet, every diet pill known to man with no luck. I would lose 30 lbs or so and then gain back 40 or more. I did this all through nursing school. Finally I got my wedding pictures back---I was mortified!! I couldn't believe the person that I saw in those photos. I had had enough. I was already undergoing a md supervised diet when I heard about the lapband and just knew right away that this surgery was for me. Since my surgery on January 31, 2008 I have lost 83lbs. This is the most I have ever lost and this is the longest period for which I have kept the wt off. I still have more to go but overall am very pleased with my band!
