I've only gotten this from my Dr.'s guidelines: 30-40 gm. protein/drink, <15 gm. of carb/drink. I do this 2x a day....with the protein and veggies with dinner (small).
Now....I did find a tasty powder that I can combine with fat free milk (or water) and the carbs & protein #'s stay within the range my Dr. set. So far, I've been taste testing powders and the "Star Six" with 25 gm. protein from Walmart (chocolate of course) is my fav. Be sure to read the directions for the portions. I've been using it and trying to get up to 2 a day...almost there.
My surgery date isn't set yet...but I am hoping for a date at the end of March and he's said that I'd have to do this the MONTH before surgery...so, soon it'll be on...
I hope this helps with the drinks. Personally, I HATED the can stuff...ewwww, metal tasting. Both Slimfast and Adkins, couldn't stand them. Best of luck! :) |
